Easter

We made it! Whew---the last week was weird; Bob and I both came home from Pittsburgh with some malady. He missed more work this week than in all the sick days combined of the previous 30 years. Anyway, we were well enough to go to church for Easter services. After lunch with some friends I came home to cook a belated birthday dinner for Brian. Thursday was his 39th but we were too sick to celebrate it then. He, Allison, and Jillian came over tonight for his favortie "peel apart" roast (name he gave pot roast in his early childhood--it stuck). That menu is simple but always a hit with him. He said he smelled it when he came on the front porch. After dinner Jillian couldn't wait to open his birthday present; quite a little helper she is. It was a different kind of Easter day for us without everyone present but a good one. No Easter egg hunt with all the little ones---was too wet and drizzly outside at times. Then the sun poked through near sunset time. We're just glad to be back among the living and in the routine again.
