Silence

Christmas 2007 was a great time with all the little ones in the house. Some days we had as many as sixteen people moving from kitchen to family room, dining room to living room, patio to front yard. Laughter filled the air with the clicking of dominoes and the shuffling of cards. Even the older grandkids got into the act. Annabella was hooraying with arms in the air anytime she won a round. Nathan and Ethan took the games very seriously and planned their strategies carefully. Ryan was seen toting his golf clubs on his shoulder throughout the house and using the hallway runner for his putting green. Tiger Woods watch out! Preston watched the activity and carried anything in his hands related to trains. He still loves Thomas the Train. Jillian wasn't outdone by anyone---she was in the middle of it all and having a blast. Sometimes GrandBob and this Grandmommy thought the decibels got a little loud but we reminded ourselves that it would end all too soon. Sure enough on Sunday morning, the Nashville bound crew rolled out of the driveway and we returned to a very quiet house. Both of us without saying a word quickly found things to do to distract ourselves from the deafening SILENCE.

We had a wonderful time being with you all! The week went way too fast. I love the picture of the kids. What a time trying to get one good picture, huh? Love you!

Anytime you want a break from the silence, you know there are three little ones who can take on the job! I wouldn't be opposed to some silence of my own once in a while! Although, on several occasions when I've had that "pleasure", I am aware of the "deafening silence" you speak of. Makes me feel strange.
